About Myself
I am lucky to have the opportunity to meet and work with many high school students, your child included, while working as a Guidance Counselor at Owosso High School. In case you were curious about me and my educational and personal background, some basic information is below.
I began my career as a math and science teacher after I graduated from Michigan Tech University. My first teaching job was at Chisholm High School in North Enid, Oklahoma. I also taught in Altus, Oklahoma and was one of the original teachers hired to teach at the newly formed alternative high school named ACTS (Another Chance to Succeed). I have some of my best memories from this teaching experience. I later moved with my husband to Spokane, Washington and taught multiple math classes at Eastern Washington University. I also earned my Master's degree in Mathematics at EWU. My best memory of Spokane was the birth of our daughter, Paige. We moved shortly after she turned 1 to Owosso, Michigan and I began teaching mathematics at Owosso High School. Our son, Ryan was born a few years later. Incredibly, I managed to earn both a Master's degree in School Counseling from Eastern Michigan University and a Master's in Public Administration from the University of Michigan's Rackham School of Graduate Studies shortly thereafter. Both my daughter Paige and son Ryan are Owosso High School graduates. Paige is also a 2015 graduate of the University of Michigan where she graduated with honors and earned her Bachelor's of Business degree from their prestigious Ross School of Business. Ryan is in his second year at Harvard University studying Economics. He is also a cadet in their AFROTC program. I have been married to my college sweetheart for 29 years and I have been a high school counselor at Owosso High School since 1994. My caseload includes the classes of 2019 and 2020. Go Trojans!
